Introduction
To improve patient care
services Department Psychiatry was started in the month of November
2013. This Department provides out-patient services and inpatient
services on all working days of the hospital.
The department actively
participates in epilepsy camps held jointly by Friends of SVIMS
Society and Department of Neurology every month. We provide modified
ECT services at affordable prices to the poor and needy. The
Department is involved in regular teaching programmes for MBBS, M.Sc.
Psychiatry nursing, Bachelors in Physiotherapy and Pharm-D
students.
Equipment :
Brief pulse electroconvulsive therapy machine (NIVIQURE)-
Technology developed in conjunction with NIMHANS.

We are working in conjunction with Department
of Nuclear Medicine to find out the Biological correlates for
various Psychiatric disorders.
