Welcome message from Director cum Vice Chancellor,SVIMS

Respected Dr. Sudha Murty garu,

We are truly blessed to have you on SVIMS soil once again- a hearty welcome on behalf of SVIMS family!

It so happens that I am in USA on the august occasion of your visit to SVIMS, and it is my loss to be missing you and your wisdom during the visit. While I am making US trip on personal grounds , I am honoured to be Invited as Visiting Scholar at Harvard Global Health Institute during July 17-19, and asked to share my Indian experience in healthcare quality; it gives me an opportunity to firm up ties with SVIMS, as we have signed an MoU recently with Harvard.

You will note during your visit that, our financial conditions notwithstanding, we are on rapid growth and a steep trajectory towards excellence on national and global scale.

Some of the unique achievements are:

  • notching up in NIRF and other rankings,

  • displaying our Quality/Patient Safety metrics in public domain,

  • creating southeast Asia’s largest dialysis facility, crossing cardiac milestones of over 10,000 angioplasties and the largest number of primary angioplasties in public sector,

  • building the region’s best integrated trauma program,

  • opening International Training Center of American Heart Association,

  • training the largest number of lay citizens in CPR(10,000 and counting...), creating 13L Sq ft infrastructure in the last three years alone (compared with 8 L sq ft during the prior 22 years)

  • opening the second “women only “medical college in India,

  • building a state level viral diagnostic research laboratory(VRDL)...and ...the biggest community outreach program of the state, including the soon to be launched, Women’s Cancer Initiative of Rayalaseema.

As we discussed during your last visit, sustaining such effort needs commitment and funding from TTD and AP Govt. The comparisons will be shown to you again during your visit, that will undoubtedly convey that SVIMS offers VALUE.

In the service of Lord Venkateswara and humanity

With utmost regards,

Prof.(Dr) T.S.Ravikumar
