A University established by an Act of A.P. State Legislature | Established 1986
Alleviating human suffering has been a part of dedicated services of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (T.T.D.) to mankind. Conceived in 1986 on the lines of AIIMS, New Delhi, SVIMS was established to provide sophisticated super-specialty medical technology at nominal costs to the poor.
The foundation stone was laid on April 18, 1986, by Late Sri N.T. Rama Rao, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The institute became a functioning hospital in 1993 and attained University status in 1995.
Our healing touch covers Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states through a diagnostic wing equipped with advanced automation.
The Department of Cardiology features invasive hemodynamic monitoring, biplane transoesophageal probes, and radiofrequency ablation. Similarly, C.T. Surgery handles the entire spectrum of surgical chest diseases, including complex redo operations and congenital heart surgeries for infants.
Launched in September 2001 by Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust provides free medical care to poor patients with life-threatening diseases of the Heart, Kidney, Brain, and Cancer.
To date, hundreds of successful free surgeries have been performed, embodying the belief that serving humanity is serving the Lord.
