Introduction
Established in May 2014, the Department of Dental Surgery was founded on the
principle of providing comprehensive, interdisciplinary dental care. The
department is committed to meeting the diverse needs of patients through a
blend of clinical excellence, academic rigor, and community engagement.

- Patient Care: Providing a full spectrum of preventive and rehabilitative dental services for the management of dental diseases.

Undergraduate Training: Academic & Clinical Goals
The Department of Dental Surgery aims to cultivate technically proficient, empathetic, and evidence-based Dental knowledge among future Medical practitioners. Our curriculum is designed to bridge between Medical and Dental professions with academic knowledge and clinical application.
1. Clinical Competence & Patient Management
- Comprehensive Care: To train Medical students in making diagnosis and treatment methodologies for different Dental diseases.
- Procedural Mastery: To provide hands on experience in treating various Dental diseases ensure proficiency , including restorative work, basic oral surgery, and preventive care.
- Empathy-Led Practice: To develop strong interpersonal skills for effective patient communication, ensuring ethical care and patient comfort.
2. Theoretical & Evidence-Based Foundation
- Critical Thinking: To move beyond routine memorization, encouraging students to apply diagnostic logic to complex clinical cases.
- Integration of Sciences: To foster a deep understanding of how systemic health relates to oral health (interdisciplinary approach).
- Research Literacy:To introduce students to the latest advancements in dental materials and technology, encouraging a lifelong commitment to learning.
3. Community Health & Early Intervention
- Public Health Awareness: To utilize the "PINK BUS" initiative as a primary teaching tool, training students to identify early pathological changes and oral mucosal lesions.
- Epidemiological Insight: To provide students with first-hand experience in community-based screenings, understanding the prevalence of dental diseases in diverse populations
