Department of Psychiatry

Introduction

Established in November 2013, the Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care. We offer robust outpatient and inpatient services on all working days, catering to a wide spectrum of psychiatric needs within the community.

Clinical Facilities: OP & ward : located at 2nd Floor, SVIMS-SPMCWH. To ensure patient well-being, the department features modern entertainment facilities and dedicated nursing care.

Equipment: The department is equipped with state-of-the-art High-Definition tDCS (HD-tDCS) and EEG-integrated ECT systems, facilitating advanced neuromodulation and precise clinical monitoring.

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
A specialized unit for emergency psychiatry, equipped with multipara monitoring and dedicated ICU beds.
Student Wellness Clinic
A proactive initiative providing mental health screening and wellness counseling for the university student community.
Government Schemes
Full In-patient coverage under Dr. YSR Aarogyasri (Cashless) and Employees Health Scheme (EHS).

Neuromodulation & rTMS Center - SBAVP Scheme Funding (Dec 2025)

Project 1: Safety and efficacy of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) with automated Neuro-navigation for Schizophrenia.
