It is the aspiration of Honourable Chief Minister
to have a Comprehensive Cancer Care project in Andhra Pradesh for
service to the cancer patients, which would be the first of its kind
in the country and in accordance with the Government’s plan to build
three Comprehensive Cancer Care Centres in Andhra Pradesh, one each
in SVIMS-Tirupati, Chinakakani-Guntur and KGH- Visakhapatnam. In the
progress towards establishment of Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre
at SVIMS, Tirupati Dr Nori Dattatreyudu, the world renowned
Oncologist, during his 1st visit to SVIMS, Tirupati in March, 2022
along with the Chairman, TTD Board of Trustees and
Chairman-cum-Chancellor, SVIMS University, Tirupati Sri. Y.V. Subba
Reddy garu inspected the Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology and
Radiation Oncology departments in SVIMS and on his subsequent visit
to SVIMS in May 2022, Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu suggested to establish
One Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre at SVIMS as one among the 3
centres planned in AP. He also suggested the centre to be named as
Sri Balaji Institute of Oncology – an
International Centre for Advanced Cancer Research and the
main objective of Sri BIO is to establish a world class cancer
hospital where poor & needy are treated on par with corporate
hospitals
