The Department is headed by Dr.K.Umaheswara Rao who has many years of teaching experience for UG and PG. He completed his M.B.B.S. at AIMS, Bellur in 1994 and M.D. in Pharmacology at S.V.M.C., Tirupati in 2002. Later he joined government service and worked as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh till 2009 then as Associate Professor at RIMS, Kadapa, A.P till 2011 and as Associate Professor and Professor & Head at MAPIMS, Melmaruvathur, Tamilnadu till June 2015.

 

He has got specialized trainings like Medical Educational Technology, Research Methodology and Integrated Teaching Curriculum. The Department of Pharmacology is running successfully under the dynamic leadership of Professor & Head, Dr.K.Umaheswara Rao. He is also holding the post of Vice-Principal (Administration) for SVIMS-SPMC(W), Tirupati.
