Introduction

The Department of Anatomy was established in the year 2003.The successive HOD’s are: 

1.      Dr. R. Sekhar,  Professor and Head from 2006 – 2010

2.      Dr. Jaleswar Rao, Assoc. Professor and I/c Head from2010-2011  

3.      Dr. V. Subhadra Devi, Professor and Head from 2013 to till date

The Department of Anatomy conducted SVIMS Medical Exhibition in the year 2005.

Dr. V. Subhadra Devi has taken charge as HOD after retiring from Government services in the year 2013 from S.V.Medical College, Tirupati.

The Department was involved in teaching to various courses like MSc Medical, B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Paramedical and Bachelor of Physiotherapy up to 2013 with the co-operation of adjacent S.V.Medical College. In the year 2014 with the establishment of Sri Padmavathi Medical College for women, Anatomy dissection hall and histology practical laboratory were established in full-fledged form. At present the department of Anatomy is involved in teaching and training programmes.

The Department of Anatomy is having adequate equipment’s related to Anatomy i.e. Embalming, Histology techniques and Research lab.
