Awards, achievements and Felicitations:

 

 

Present

 

a)      Department of Cardiology achieved a landmark of 20000 cardiac interventions on 01 Dec 2020, SVIMS is the only hospital in Govt. Sector in Andhra Pradesh to achieve this feat.

b)      Department Cardiology achieved the feet of 1000 Cardiac interventions in 2020 despite the COVID Pandemic.  This was archived for 11th year in succession.  SVIMS is the only hospital in Andhra Pradesh to archive this feet.

c)      Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor, received Meritorious service award from District Collector of Chittoor on the eve of Republic day celebrations held at Chittoor Collectorate on 26th Jan 2020.

d)     Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor, Felicitated by District Collector on the occasion of International women’s day at SVIMS, on 8th March, 2020.

e)      Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor, Officiated as Board Member, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Madurai on 27th October 2020 by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

f)       Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor, Officiated as Vice-President, South Zone, National Medicos Organisation (NMO) on 15th Dec 2020.

g)      Dr. G. Ram Pavan Kumar, Senior Resident and postgraduate student in Cardiology won Dr. G. Subramanyam Gold medal for best research paper presentation at APCSI-2020 virtual conference from 27-29th November-2020 for his paper titled “Assessment of Right Ventricular Strain and Strain rate before and after Percutaneous Atrial Septal Defect closure”.

a)      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as the President of Andhra Pradesh Chapter of Cardiological Society of India in 2019.

b)      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as National Vice President of the Indian College of Cardiology in 2019.

c)      Dr. D. Rajasekhar received the State Government Award for Outstanding Service on Republic Day.

d)     Dr. D. Rajasekhar completed 25 years of service as faculty at SVIMS on 31.01.19.

e)      Dr. D. Rajasekhar delivered the Presidential Pration at the APCSI Conference on 24.08.19.  He spoke on “Current status of PFO Closure”

International:

 

a)                  Dr. D. Rajasekhar attended the Trans Catheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2019 conference at San Francisco between 25-29 September 2019 as “Associate Faculty”.

National:

 

i)                    Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as faculty and chaired a scientific session at the “ACC - Annual India Cardiovascular Symposium” in New Delhi from 19-20 January 2019.

ii)                  Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as faculty and chaired a session in India Live Annual conference and symposium organised at Mumbai between 1-2 March 2019.

iii)                Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty and chaired a session in “Complex high risk Intervention 2019”organised at Hyderabad between 19-20 January 2019.

iv)                Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as faculty and chaired a Scientific session in a Imaging and Physiology summit at Hyderabad on 20-21 April 2019.

v)                  Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty and delivered a lecture on “Management of Coronary Perforation” in the mid term national intervention council meeting held at Lucknow between 5-7 April 2019.

vi)                Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty the 5th Annual Conference of Andhra Pradesh chapter of Cardiological Society of India held at Rajamahendravaram from 24-25 August 2019 and delivered a lecture on “Current Status of PFO closure”.

vii)              Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty the national conference of Indian college of cardiology organised at Kochi between 20-22 September 2019 and delivered a talk on “Current Status of Streptokinase in Acute MI management”.

viii)            Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty and delivered a talk on “IVUS in stent failure% in the coronary imaging and physiology meet at Thiruvananthapuram between 19-20 October 2019.

ix)                Dr. D. Rajasekhar, attended as a faculty and chaired a scientific session at the 2ng national meeting on imaging and physiology organised at Chennai between 9-10 August 2019.

5.      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as an Examiner for DNB cardiology on the NBE.

6.      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as an Examiner for DM Cardiology at several universities.

7.      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as Peer Reviewer for several National and International journals.

8.      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as Abstract Reviewer for the Europeon Society of Cardiology for ESC Annual Scientific Sessions in August 2019.

9.      Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as an Instructor for AHA-ITC at SVIMS.

10.  Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as faculty for several National Cardiology Conferences.

11.  Dr. D. Rajasekhar served as associate faculty of TCT 2019 organised by Cardiovascular Research Foundation.

12.  On the occasion of World Heart Day on 29.09.2019 a public awareness Program on various Heart diseases was organized by the Department of Cardiology in Padmavathi OP Block.

 

1.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head, was awarded the prestigious “FELLOW OF THE INDIAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY -FICC” at the 5th annual Conference of the Indian College of Cardiology held at Varanasi in July 1999.

2.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head, was awarded “K.V. NAIDU MEMORIAL AWARD” in September 2000.

3.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head, was awarded the A.P. State Government Award Certificate of Appreciations for the Best performance for the year 2001-2002 at the Republic Day celebrations on 26th January 2002, at Chittoor.

4.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head, was awarded the prestigious “FELLOW OF THE CARDIOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF INDIA- FCSI” at the 57th annual conference of CSI held at Mumbai in December 2005.

5.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head, was awarded the prestigious “FELLOW OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY- FACC” at the annual scientific sessions of ACC at Atlanta Georgia on 15 03 2010.

6.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head was awarded prestigious fellowship of FSCAI by Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), USA in May, 2014.

7.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head received Dr. SubhasiniYeleti Gold medal for best research publication award of the year 2014 published by the SVIMS faculty on Annual day celebrations of the SVIMS at Mahati auditorium.

8.     Dr. D. Rajasekhar, Professor & Head received A.P. State Best Teacher award from Hon. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 05 Sept 2015 at Vishakapatnam.
