a) Completed: Research projects & Clinical drug trials:

1.   INDO-US Collaboration: “Memorandum of the understanding” was signed between Department of Neurology, SVIMS.  Prof.R.Ramamurthy, Dept.of Zoology, S.V.University, Prof.Geeta Bali, Dept.of Zoology, Bangalore University, Bangalore and John Savory, Ph.D., Mary M.Herman, MD of University of Virginia, USA to colloborate with the research projects on Neurotoxicity, Metal toxicity in biological systems and Neuropathology, associated with toxins.

2.    Research collaboration with Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) Mysore : “Study of trace elements in Neuro-degenerative disorders in Serum and CSF” – Colloborative study by Dr.K.S.Jagannatha Rao, Senior Scientist, Dept.of Biochemistry and Nutrition, CFTRI, Mysore and Dr.B.Vengamma, Dept.of Neurology, SVIMS.

3.   Research Member in “Rajiv Gandhi Water Mission Project on Trace Elemental Toxicity in Kadiri Region of Andhra Pradesh” in collaboration with CFTRI, Mysore.

4.   Research Collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore on “National Collaborative Study on Genetics of Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy” and attended the meeting on May 8th 1999 in the Department of Molecular Genetics at JNC for Advanced Research, Bangalore.

5.   ICMR Project titled. “Anticonvulsant drug induced alteration in Calcium and Vitamin D Metabolism”  by Departments of Neurology & Endocrinology, SVIMS.(Co investigator)

6.   Drug Trial entitled, “ A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy, safety and  tolerability of RWJ-333369 as adjunctive therapy in subjects with partial onset  seizures”

7.   Protocol : N01254 – “An International,  randomized, double-blind, parallel  group, placebo-controlled, flexible dose study : Evaluation of the safety    and    efficacy of brivaracetam in subjects ( > 16 to 70 years old) suffering from  localization-related or generalized epilepsy”

8.   Drug Trial entitled  “A Randomized, Double-blind, Parallel-group, Multicenter Study     to Evaluate the Retention Rate, Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of Carisbamate,Topiramate and Levetiracetam as Adjunctive Therapy in Subjects with Partial Onset Seizures  (CARISEPY3007)
