Introduction

Department of Community Medicine has been instrumental in conducting  theory and practical classes from Ist Year MBBS to 7th Semester, Physiotherapy classes, BSC Paramedical classes with good results.  We also celebrate important National Days relating to health. 

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE DEPARTMENT

  1. Community Medicine/Wellness/Non-Communicable Diseases Clinic: OPD Services

  2. Observance of National and World Health Days: like WHO days, world AIDS day, World breast feeding week, world  diabetes day, world tuberculosis day etc.

  3. Health awareness programmes/ Health education activities.

  4. Organizing Seminars, workshops, Guest Lectures and Conferences.

  5. School Health Programmes, Health check-ups of Aanganwadi children.

  6. Conducting surveys

  7. Training of students – About environment & sanitation, rural health, health programmes etc

  8. Research projects and publishing the scientific papers

  9. Participation in the  national and state level conferences.

  10. Participation of staff in other programmes--  like medical diagnostic camps.

  11. Participating in Rural Medical Health Camps and outreaching Programme in Rural and Remote areas informed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Public Relations Department, SVIMS.

  12. Training of Interns who are posted in RHTC, Mangalam, UHTC, Gandhi Road, TTD Central Hospital and SVIMS Community Medicine OPD.

 

 

 

Outreach Activities by  SVIMS  from  Jan 2018  upto  Feb 2021:

1.      Cancer Survey & Awareness Programme(Cervical Cancer, Breast Cancer, Oral Cancer)conducted at various rural & urban areas in Chittoor District for adults above 35yrs of age population up to Feb 2019.

2.      BLS & ACLS Training programme conducted in various Government High Schools, Police dept & Government staff up to Feb 2019.

3.      Arogyasree medical health camps monthly once in Tribal and Rural areas

4.      Family health surveys as part of training of  MBBS students in rural field Practice area of RHTC, Mangalam.

5.      SWASTHYA VIDYA VAHINI(SVVprogramme was conducted in various village at Yerravaripalem & Chinnagotigallu mandal up to DEC 2018

6.      Swachh SVIMS was conducted weekly once up to Feb 2019.

7.      Field visits by Dr K Nagaraj for Control of COVID-19 in Sri Kalahasti through contact tracing and testing

8.      COVID-19 Vaccination programme in January 2021 at SVIMS coordinated by Nodal Officer Dr.V.Chandrasekhar & Dr.G.Visweswara Rao ,Assistant Professors of  Community Medicine, SVIMS, SPMCW

9.      Monitoring of National Immunization Drive in Rural & Urban areas of Chittoor District during January 2018 & January 2020 by Dr.G.Visweswara Rao Assistant Professor  of  Community Medicine, SVIMS, SPMCW who worked as External monitor representing WHO

10.   Monitoring of National Immunization Drive in Rural & Urban areas of Chittoor District during January 2019 & January 31st to 3rd February 2021 by Dr.V.Chandrasekhar Assistant Professor  of  Community Medicine, SVIMS, SPMCW who worked as External monitor representing WHO.

11.  Monitoring of Covid 19 vaccination in Rural & Urban areas of Chittoor District during January 18th to 19th January 2021 by Dr.G.Visweswara Rao Assistant Professor of  Community Medicine, SVIMS, SPMCW who worked as monitor representing WHO.

Public Awareness Programmes Conducted on National Health Days:

1.      World Health Day 7th April 2018 conducted.

2.      World Diabetic day (14.11.2018).

3.      World AIDS Day (01.12.2018).

 

Note : SWACHH SVIMS activities were not done in 2020 due to COVID 19 pandemic
